Brainerd Lakes Midwifery partners with several central Minnesota childbirth educators who teach quarterly childbirth education classes for expectant mothers and their partners. Each one-day class covers a variety of topics and provides plenty of time for questions and discussion. The course is appropriate for parents planning a home birth or un-medicated/natural hospital birth. Topics include:

the emotional and psychological aspects of labor
stages of labor: what they are, how to recognize them, and how partners can be supportive throughout the process
hands-on practice of counterpresure and massage, labor rehearsals
birth videos, games, time to interact with other couples
getting a good start with breastfeeding
common postpartum concerns and much more!
Classes are typically held in Brainerd, MN or Long Prairie, MN and normally run from approximately 10 a.m. -- 3 p.m.
